LE TIR VU DE L'ARRIERE. Le tireur, à droite, remplit sa fiche ; à gauche, devant, le pointeur ; derrière lui, le chef de pièce a l'ensemble de la pièce sous les yeux. N° 26.967 CE NE SONT QUE DES 105 ; mais déjà la flamme et la fumée de l'explosion jaillissent à plusieurs mètres de la bouche. Que serait-ce s'il s'agissait d'un obus de pièce de 340, qui, au départ, produit une flamme de près de 60 mètres ! Les 105 français, matériel moderne répondant à la construction des 105 allemands et comportant des canons longs et des obusiers. collaborent avec les 75 de campagne pour les tirs de repérage, de barrage, de harcèlement ; ces deux calibres forment l'artillerie légère dans la division et le corps d'armée. Nous ne parlons évidemment pas ici du canon antichars affecté à l'infanterie. Les fantassins préposés à sa manœuvre en sont si fiers qu'ils revendiquent le nom de : canonniers ! Les Allemands ont affecté leur 77 aux formations de réserve pour ne garder que le 105 millimètres, qui a une portée utile légèrement supérieure à celle de notre 75 (14 kilomètres contre 12), mais qui est un peu moins rapide et dont l'usure est plus grande. Car, en artillerie, l'usure est directement proportionnelle au calibre et les pièces à longue portée sont par conséquent beaucoup plus fragiles qu'un 75, premier modèle d'une série qui compte, en France, 80 types ! |
