In der deutschenKunst stellt Wilhelm von Köln die ältere Auffassungsweise, Hans Memlingund Rogier van der Weyden den Uebergang, Dürer (mit einem höchst eigen-artigen Kupferstich, Fig. 195) *, Schäufelin und Springinklee die jüngere Weisedar. Das dem Correggio wol mit Unrecht zugeschriebene Schweisstuch derBerliner Galerie zeigt das Antlitz des Herrn mit Blutstropfen befleckt undmit der Dornenkrone, von übermenschlichem Ausdruck des Leidens2.
