Summary[edit]

Description
  • Italiano: Wilhelm von Gloeden (1856–1931). Ritratto di ragazzo con taenia (Edoardo). Numero di catalogo: 1050. Cm 12,2 x 17,2.
  • English: Wilhelm von Gloeden (1856–1931). Portrait of a lad (Edoardo) wearing a headband. Catalogue number: 1050. Cm 12,2 x 17,2. This shot belongs in a group of at least three, taken by Gloeden's cousin Wilhelm von Plueschow in Naples, and absorbed by Gloeden in his catalogue. This is shown by the fact that Edoardo is one of Pluschow's favourite models during his stay in Naples, that two out of three of these numbers a duplicates in Gloeden's catalogue, and above all that image number 1051 by Gloeden appears exactly with the same number also in Plueschow's catalogue. Furthermore, in photo number 1052 Edoardo poses in Pompaeii with a muscled model, who both Plueschow and Gloeden photographed alone, both in Pompaeii and in Naples. It's therefore evident that Gloeden must have purchased these three images during one of his several trips to Naples to visit his cousin and colleague. This images was also printed in the larger format (cm 30x40) with number G 0215.
