DescriptionGmünder Au - NSG.jpg	Deutsch: Das Naturschutzgebiet "Gmünder Au" liegt im Landkreis Regensburg zwischen der Autobahn A 3 und der Donau. Das Altwasser der Donau zieht hier eine große Schleife und schließt ein wichtiges Naturschutzgebiet ein, das zum Schutz der Pflanzen und Tiere ganzjährig nicht betreten werden darf. Es ist ein wichtiges Brut-, Rast- und Überwinterungsgebiet von gefährdeten Vögeln. Das Donaualtwasser wird durch die Wiesent gespeist. Das Altwasser ist eine Kinderstube für Flussfische.
