Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Gneiss Folds This striped rock is formed of sheets of pink granitoid rock intruded into dark amphibole-rich gneiss, and then all the layers have been folded and refolded into these tight upright folds. The sheets were emplaced about 2700 million years ago and folded and metamorphosed during the Inverian deformation event about 2500 million years ago.
