Like Major Yardon, whoalso had (in 1848) visited the °Say?*^Limpopo, these sportsmen hadmade their head-quarters at the missionstations in the game country. Mr. Oswell(Vol. II., p. 225) had entered the MadrasGivii Service early in life, but his healthfailing, he was, like so many others in likecase, ordered to the Gape of Good Hope torecruit. This he did to such good purposethat he lived to the age of seventy-five, oneof the halest of English country gentlemen.
