| Description |
English: Granite quarry Stockpiles of material cover much of the area of this quarry in the Murvey facies of the Galway Granite, which dates to about 380 million years, or Caledonian period of mountain building. It can be seen that some parts of the outcrop which is being worked are heavily jointed, while others are massive. Undoubtedly, the enthusiasm for building "one-off" developments in this popular, scenic area is creating a demand for building materials which may not be so buoyant in other areas during the present recession. |
