Summary
[edit]DescriptionGravestone, Tower Hamlets Cemetery, London E1 - geograph.org.uk - 1121379.jpg |
English: Gravestone, Tower Hamlets Cemetery, London E1 These gravestones can only still be seen because of the dedication of members of the East of London History Society who keep the vegetation cut back. The stone relates to the Hoare Family of Sparrow Corner, which used to be near where the Minories still exists, possibly on the site of the Tower Gateway station. One of the inscriptions on the stone relates to one James Hoare who was lost at sea on the vessel "Normon Morrison" in October 1865. The William Hoare mentioned on the gravestone is my great great grandfather. |
