English: HINDE Gravestone with inscription about to drop off Grave of Thomas Hinde baptised October 31 Buried February 27th 1857
Wife Mary Hinde(Nee Illingworth) born 1785 and buried June 1 1850. They had 14 children including bricklayer Thomas Hinde born 1804 who emigrated to South Africa under the Byrne Emigration scheme in 1849.One of the first emigrants to Natal. This picture is so important because the face was about to drop off the gravestone and would have been lost to inscribers. |
