Description
English: HATTERAS, N.C. (Sept. 18, 2003)-Petty officer Matt Overmyer, station at Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Fla., helps push disaster response equipment out of the cargo area of a Coast Guard C-130 aircraft in Elizabeth City, N.C.. The Clearwater crew helped transport essential disaster response teams and their equipment to heavily hit regions of North Carolina immediately after Hurricane Isabel tore through the Outer Banks Sept. 18, 2003. The C-130 can carry 51,000 pounds of cargo, or rescue or oil pollution control equipment. Operated by a crew of seven, the HC-130 can airdrop life rafts or dewatering pumps or dispersant for oil pollution control. USCG photo by PA2 Dana Warr
