The building is located opposite <a href="https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1977520">NZ1765 : Cement Works, Newburn High Street</a>

Previous use of the long, high wooden building is shown on large scale maps from the 1960s as a Cordage Works <a href="https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1986651">NZ1765 : Former Cordage Works, Newburn</a>, possibly Newburn Cordage Ltd, which made only fibre ropes, and was acquired by British Ropes Ltd. in 1963 <a title="http://www.igg.org.uk/gansg/12-linind/rope.htm" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.igg.org.uk/gansg/12-linind/rope.htm">Link</a><img style="padding-left:2px;" alt="External link" title="External link - shift click to open in new window" src="http://s0.geograph.org.uk/img/external.png" width="10" height="10"/>
