Reportage / Serie : Hohenloher Land Deutsch: Bad Mergentheim, Sommer 1960. Vorne die Wachbacher Straße, in Bildmitte der Hans-Heinrich-Ehrler-Platz vor dem Rathaus. Ein bestimmtes Modell unter den Personenkraftwagen dominiert die Szenerie: Der "VW" (erst Jahre später allgemein als "Käfer" bekannt), a) mit geteilter, b) mit ovaler, und c) mit großer Heckscheibe! Links vorne im Bild ist aber auch ein seltener Gast zu erkennen: Ein Kleinwagen aus UK mit Rechtssteuerung und dem Nummernschild DEK 777, die zughörige Automarke von der britischen "Insel" ist noch ungeklärt. Wahrscheinlich war die "Romantische Straße" das Hauptziel des seltenen Besuchers. Im Gegenverkehr, vorne, befördert ein Junge mit einem Lastenfahrrad frische Blumen zum Markt: Bad Mergentheim im Sommer des Jahres 1960 ... auch das gelbe Telefonhäuschen, links im Bild, ist längst Geschichte.
English: Bad Mergentheim, summer 1960: Wachbacher Straße in the foreground, Hans-Heinrich-Ehrler-Platz in front of the town hall. One particular model among the passenger cars dominates the scene: the "VW" (only years later generally known as the "Beetle"): a) with a split, b) with an oval, and c) with a large rear window! A rare guest can also be seen in the front left of the picture: A small car from the UK with right-hand drive and the licence plate DEK 777, the associated car brand from the British "island" is still unclear. The "Romantic Road" was probably the main destination of this rare visitor. In oncoming traffic, in front, a boy on a cargo bike is transporting fresh flowers to the market: Bad Mergentheim in the summer of 1960 ... The yellow telephone box on the left of the picture is also long gone. |
