It is not reasonable to try out a blade ongh speed steel that you intend to use forcutting machine steel. Testing a blade ina hand frame gives little indication of whatkind of work it will do in a machine. Thetesting of only one or cne dozen blades willnot determine what kind of work a brandwill do continuously. The only fair test ofa Hack Saw Blade is the test of continuoususe for a reasonable period of time undernormal shop conditions. Goodell-Pratt blades are made to stand upunder continuous shop use and not freaktests.
