Summary[edit]

Description
English: Hartley Bridge at the Albert Dock Looking across the Hartley Bridge, which was designed by Yorkshireman Jesse Hartley in 1843. Jesse Hartley was appointed engineer to the Port of Liverpool in 1824 and it is said that during his time there he either constructed or altered every dock in Liverpool. On the other side of the bridge, on the left, is Tate Liverpool, and on the right is the former Piermaster's House. The Hartley Bridge was restored and re-opened in 1984, and of the two windlasses on the right, the far side one is original dated 1843, whilst the one on this side was refurbished by the Bruce & Hyslop Foundry in 1983.
