| Description |
English: A westbound coal train near Hazlehead Bridge charging up to Dunford Bridge and the Woodhead Tunnel. View eastward down the Don Valley towards Penistone; ex-Great Central Manchester - Sheffield main line, before the electrification - begun in 1939 and completed in 1954 - see SK1199 : Westward view at Woodhead etc. The Class H mineral is headed by a Gresley J39 0-6-0 (No. 64745) - not the usual 2-8-0 (cf. SE1902 : Sheffield - Manchester express at Hazlehead Bridge) but no doubt well assisted in rear (out of sight). |
