Summary[edit]
DescriptionHedon Haven - geograph.org.uk - 278337.jpg |
English: Hedon Haven, east of Salt End, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. This is all that remains of the Hedon Haven - a former navigable waterway from the River Humber to the old port of Hedon. Hedon was a port long before its much larger neighbour, Hull was. The Haven silted up badly and became unavigable and was filled in completely in places in the late 1970s. This is the view looking eastwards about halfway along its length between the River Humber and Hedon - a distance of about two miles altogether. |
