Description: [N.B. The explication for this plate is listed as IV in the text. In addition, there are two plates designated IV - this one has been assign the number 4[b].] Figure 1. Hareng plein de belle taille: on voit que le nombre & la position des ailerons & des nageoires est comme aux Aloses. Figure 2. Hareng gai, vuide d'oeufs & de laite; il est pour cette raison plus menu que le plein. Figure 3. Branchie ou Guigne de Hareng. Figure 4. Les visceres qu'on tire avec les ouies quand on habille ou caque les Harengs. Les Figures 5 & 6 sont deslinées à donner une idée de la distribution des principales arêtes dans la chair de ces Poissons. Figure 7. Elle indique comment est formée la feie qui est sous le ventre de ces Poissons; ce qui differe peu de ce qui est représenté fig. 8, Pl. I, (pag. 346.) Nous avons représenté sur les Planches V, VI, & VII, les principaux bâtiments qu'emploient les Hollandois, les Anglois & les François, pour la pêche du Hareng au Nord, à Yarmouth & dans la Manche.
