Abstract: Print shows George Washington, half-length portrait, seated, facing right, wearing military uniform; he is holding his sword with his right arm, which is resting on the arm of a chair, and is holding a paper in his right hand; a hat rests on a table on the right and through a part in the drapery, or the opening of his tent, is seen a military encampment. At bottom center, amidst the title, is an eagle with striped shield and banner "E. Pluribus Unum", and holding in its talons an olive branch and three arrows; rays of light eminate from above and clouds form the base. Physical description: 1 print : stipple engraving ; plate 38.5 x 27.5 cm, on sheet 46.3 x 28.5 cm. Notes: Inscribed in ink on versp: 350089.; Title from item.; Inscribed in pencil on verso: Resembles Stuart's head. Similar in all respects except title, to engraving (no. 216) by D. Edwin.; Stamped on verso: L.C. Fine Arts Division.; F. Bartoli pinx. ; J.
