edrepresentation of this queen in Lodges Portraitsis not authentic. The great picture at Hampton Court, HenryVIII. and his Family, now in the queens audiencechamber, represents Katharine Parr seated by theking, with Prince Edward, the Princesses Maryand Elizabeth, and Will Somers and Jane thefool. It was shown at the Tudor Exhibition, inthe catalogue of which it is attributed to GwillimStretes(P). Scharf is of opinion that the head calledPrincess Mary among the drawings at Windsorwas a study of Katharine Parr for this picture. There is a miniature of Jane Seymour by Hilliardat Windsor, which is inscribed 1536, setatis suae 27- lo return to Holbein. Mr. Nichols believesthat there is little doubt that that artist drew thekings natural son, Henry Fitz-Roy, Duke ofRichmond, who lived till 1536, though his portrait,if existing, is not now recognized.
