Voted that the committee should furnish Mr. Brownwith a copy of the foregoing. PROCEEDINGS OF THE COUNCIL. According to the proposals in the proceedings of the town, citedabove, a council was held in September. No copy of the result of thisbody is to be found in the Records, or in the papers in the custodyof the town clerk. If the Church Records ever contained a copy, itwas carried away or destroyed by Mr. Brown. The following is takenword for word, from a copy of the result, in the handwriting of Dr.Payson, of Rindge, N. H. It was kindly furnished by the Hon. Ar-temas Hale, of Bridgewater, a native of Winchendon, and son of Dea.Moses Hale. It was found among his venerable fathers papers, andis here given at length.
