They have a magicaltouch, but, like all magical things, must be used with the utmostcare and restraint. Fortunately, a greater appreciation of thevalue of strong color is evident every year. In planning the colortreatment of a room it should be considered as a whole, remem-bering that every color introduced will have its effect upon theother colors. Far more effect may be obtained by color than byornament. As the effect is greater, so greater care should betaken in using color in decoration. The first consideration inchoosing the color scheme for a room is the exposure of the room.If it faces north or east, warm tints should be used—somethingthat will give full value to all the light that gets to the room.
