| Description |
English: Royal coat of arms in the church of St. Maurice, Horkstow, North Lincolnshire, dated 1821, thus intended for King George IV (1820-1830) of the United Kingdom, and inscribed "GR" (Georgius Rex). The arms are shown incorrectly, these are in fact the arms of his father King George III (1760-1820) "of Great Britain", as used by him between 1760-1801, i.e. from the start of his reign until the Acts of Union 1800 creating the United Kingdom. Quarterly of 4: 1st Plantagenet (England) impaling Stuart (Scotland); 2nd: France; 3rd: Ireland; 4th Elector of Hanover |
