Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: Houses of The Close: no. 56, Hemingsby House A former canonry, it is now a single dwelling that originally included the building adjacent to its northern side. It lies in the northwest corner of The Close, and was probably built in the early part of the C14 by Alexander de Hemingsby. Enlargement took place during the C15, rebuilding in 1726-27, and further altered in the C20 when it became separated into two dwellings. It is Grade I Listed. |
