Summary
[edit]DescriptionHull City Promotion Parade - geograph.org.uk - 820702.jpg |
English: Hull City Promotion Parade Hull City beat Bristol City 1-0 in the Championship Playoff final on Saturday 24th. May 2008. This put Hull in the top flight of football for the first time in their club's history. A celebration parade was staged around the city roads and this photograph was taken as the first of two open topped buses passed the entrance to East Park. 39 year old Hull-born Dean Windass was the goal scorer for Hull and is seen holding the cup here. The parade should have made a brief detour into East Park itself where hundreds of people stood ready to greet the successful team..... Unfortunately it bypassed them completely and they were left disappointed! |
