| Description |
English: Irrigation pumps on the Viking Way Looking SSE from the Viking Way long distance footpath.
The field to the right is planted with potatoes. The farmland here is at about 100 metres above sea level and is extremely free draining. Irrigation of fields is a common sight in the summer and this shows an irrigation pump. You can see the hoses connected to the pumps which link to the spray equipment. The hose on the left connects to the water supply which is piped in to the field. |
