English: Isabel Wray. Weepers depicting the four daughters of Sir Christopher and Lady Anne Wray on the magnificent Elizabethan alabaster monument in St.Michael's church 434853 . The first is eldest daughter Isabel who married three wealthy and influential husbands and was known as " a woman of more than ordinary goodness and generosity to the poor and oppressed". Behind her is Frances who married two wealthy husbands and became one of the richest women in Jacobean Lincolnshire, she has her memorial at Snarford 425262. The youngest two daughters died in infancy, all have had their praying hands broken off. |
