August 5, 2020, marks the one-year anniversary of disruptions to internet service in Jammu and Kashmir by the Government of India. These internet shutdowns and slowdowns have restricted press freedom, access to vital health information during the COVID-19 pandemic, and cut people off from work, education, and connections with friends and family. We call on the government to respect human rights and immediately restore reliable high-speed internet and to #KeepItOn. |
