Summary[edit]

Description
English: Japanese larch, Haye Park This part of the forest was felled during World War I. Only a few ancient oaks remained until the 1950s when larch, Norway spruce and western hemlock was planted in the Deer Park below Haye Park farm. A plaque on one of these larch blocks stated that they were planted in 1955. Most of that planting has since been felled, or blown down (The New Year storm of 1976 did a lot of damage here).
