Summary[edit]
DescriptionKnockmore Junction - geograph-2360094-by-The-Carlisle-Kid.jpg |
English: Railway signal cabin Knockmore Junction The signal cabin at Knockmore Junction was built by the Great Northern Railway (Ireland) in 1887 to an unusual brick design. On the main Belfast - Dublin line, it was junction for a branch to Antrim and, from 1863 to 1956, another line to Newcastle. Closed on 28 May 1977, it was quickly demolished as it blocked completion of a direct line from Lisburn to the Antrim branch. |
