Description
Deutsch: Auf der Außenseite, die Tafel ist offenbar noch ziemlich neu. Am 3. August 1815 ging die Stadt Schmiedeberg, wenn die Angaben korrekt sind, an Preußen über. Bis zum Ende der DDR wurde die preußische Sicht, dass der sächsische König Friedrich August I. mit Napoleon kollaboriert hätte und Sachsen deshalb als besiegter Feindstaat angesehen wurde, nie revidiert. Dass Friedrich August die Hauptmacht der französischen Armee im eigenen Land stehen hatte und es ihm trotz einiger Vorstöße nicht möglich war, das ebenso erzwungene Bündnis mit Napoleon zu beenden, spielte dabei keine Rolle.
