Notes
  • Significance: The cold weather experimental Air Base (Ladd Field) at Fairbanks was the first Army major construction of World War II in Alaska. Permanent buildings were built based upon original designs by Austin Company rather than standardized Army structures. The Power Plant was of critical importance given the subarctic weather.
  • Survey number: HABS AK-36-L
