PRIDE OF THE NORTH. PRIDE OF THE NORTH. PRIDE OF THE NORTH.—This famous corn slili retains Us popularity as an exceedingly early aud pro lltie variety, always maturing in ninety days: often shelling li- pounds of grain from 70 pounds of ears. Kernels closely set. large, of deep orange color; cob very small and red; stalks about. 7 feet in height. This Is, probably, the best Dent corn for general cultivation In t he north, and Is now largely used in the south and west, as ii matures Its crop before the hot winds affect it. We offer pedigree seed grown from theorlginal stock wit h car,-, r111^ corn is not fully appreciated until the large yieid and small percentage of cob to corn Is care- fully noted. There Is no yellow Dent corn yet dls cow red that can take the place of this most valuable variety. It Is a safe corn for any section of country, never disappoints the grower by maturing too late, yields more corn acre for acre than any other, and has by far the most satisfactory record of any yellow Dent corn ever introduced. I.b. "20c,:$ lbs. 50c, postpaid: peck 40c, bus. $1.25, 10 bus. !j?l l.OO, IOWA GOLD MINE. A splendid new yellow corn. Everyone who has tried it is enthusiast ic in t he praise of this splendid new variety which was introduced in 1MB. It has everywhere re- ceived the most cordial endorsement as one of the best and most profitable varieties ever grown. This variety originated as follows: Six years ago a special premium offer brought sample ears of corn from several hundred farmers and seed growers, and from these we chose the one which was most decidedly the best, arid have been selecting and Improving it until it is about as near per- fection as corn can be made. It is early, ripening only a few days later than Pride of the North: ears are of good size and symmetrical; color a bright golden yel- low, as handsome as a twenty-dollar gold coin just from the mint; grain is very deep, cob small, and therefore dries out very quickly its soon as ripe. Seventy pounds of ear corn makes sixty to sixty-two pounds of shelled corn, and in hauling to market it weighs out five bushels more to the wagon load than common varieties in the same size wagon Lb. '.'lie, 8 lbs. 50c, postpaid; peck 40c, bu. $1.25, 10 bu. §11.00. IOWA SILVER MINE. The Iowa Silver Mine is a splendid new white corn. We believe that In its yield it will surpass all other varieties of any color. In ItSSM. the poor corn year, on ly three-fourths of an acre was planted, yet It yielded just seventy-three bushels, or at the rale of ninety seven and one-third bushels to the acre. It has no barren stalks. The ears are very even In size, being but little smaller at t he tip t han at t he but t. and corn Is well filled out over the tip. Seventy pounds of corn in the ear will make sixty-two pounds shelled. It Is in every way a distinct type of corn, and possesses many of the charac- teristics which have made the Iowa Gold Mine so popu , lar. while the ear is larger We stake our reputation upon this corn giving excel- lent and entire satisfaction, and that It is an entirely new origination and not an old sort under a new name. It is hardy.a great drought reslster.and summing It all up. the best White Corn ever Int roduced. the a ;me of perfection, unsurpasse d and unsurpassable. Don't fail to try 1'. Ijirgo pkt. ."•Oc. •'!
