English: Little Egret in Widewater Lagoon This member of the heron family is now a relatively common sight on estuaries and other coastal sites around Britain, particularly along the south and east coast - before the late 1980s it was a UK rarity, only turning up in significant numbers in 1989. The first breeding record was in 1996 in Dorset. |
