| Description |
English: Lock Bridge, Rochdale Canal This is an interesting location as it is the junction of the main line of the Rochdale Canal with the Rochdale Branch which formerly ran for just over a mile to the basins at Wet Rake. In this photograph, the branch, now filled in, is behind the photographer, while the main line crosses the picture. The name of the bridge reminds us that Moss Lower Lock No 50 is just to the left of the bridge, which carries the main Rochdale to Oldham road, (A671, previously A627). |
