| Description |
English: London Road cemetery London Road municipal cemetery, opened in 1847, is on the undulating site of a disused medieval stone quarry landscaped to designs by Joseph Paxton. The intention was for it to be a public park at the same time as being a burial ground for the dead. At the time of opening it was on the outskirts of the city. It was later extended on the south side of the railway line. |
