Notes
  • Significance: In 1908 the U.S. Forest Service constructed a storage shed which functioned as a ranger station situated near the southern boundary of what was to become known as Glacier National Park. By 1929, the National Park Service had converted the old station into a tool storage shed. Two years later, a log barn was constructed and the whole site was called the Lubec Ranger Station. This station served as a backcountry facility. In 1971, it was abandoned by the National Park Service. During the summer of 1977 all the structures on this site, with the exception of the log barn, were demolished. The barn was moved to St. Mary Ranger Station.
