Description
English: View of the Meuse river and the northern part of Maastricht, the Netherlands, around 1570. In the foreground the Island of Saint Anthony and floating watermills on the river. In the city wall two gates: Molenpoort (left) and Veerlinxpoort (right). The tall tower (9) is the Belfort tower, part of the demolished cloth hall, The short tower (5) belongs to the parish church of Saint Matthew. Number 24 is the chapel of Saint Catherine.
