[edit]DescriptionMano and Metate (6719803409).jpg |
This photo was taken at Balcony House in Mesa Verde National Park. The mano and metate where used to grind grains mostly corn. What appealed to me was the symmetry of the right and left side, the opposite dark and light for the wall and doorways, but then the mano and metate are haphazardly left...as if they planned to come back and finish their work and conversation. No one knows why these people left this cliff dwellings and for me this photo tells that story |
