Moreover,since no parting sand is introduced, the carrier, which runs the length of thefoundry and which allows the mould tobe taken off at whatever part of thefloor they are required, as the conveyeris reversible. This allows the mouldson being poured to be placed thereonand taken back over the hopper wherethe casting is knocked out and falls offinto a car running on a trolley under-neath and delivered to the cleaning de-partment. The sand falls through therack into the hopper where augers feedit to an elevator by means of which itis carried to the sand mixer. Thissand mixer thoroughly mixes the sandand delivers it back to the floor nearthe moulding machines.
