Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Mercury keystone, Great Malvern Post Office. The keystone above the right hand window of the Post Office bears a carving of Mercury, the Roman messenger of the gods.

He wears a Roman helmet with a crest. The Post Office bears the date 1935 and is on the site of the old vicarage. Before the reformation the parish church of St. Thomas stood on this site, but the villagers bought the newly redundant priory church for twenty pounds and St. Thomas' fell into decay.
