THE RUINED ABBEY ACT II The spectres arise, andwhen Robert appears theydance around him and leadhim to the grave of St.Rosalie, where he is shownthe magic branch. Overcom-ing his fears, he grasps it, andby its power defeats the mul-titude of demons who arisefrom the infernal regions toprevent his escape. In the next scene Robertuses the branch to becomeinvisible, and goes to LadyIsabellas room to carry heroff. In this scene occurs thefamous air for Isabella, Oh,Robert, My Beloved.
