[edit]DescriptionMisawa Sailors to Create Snow Sculpture in Northern Japan DVIDS362199.jpg |
English: With the help of a ladder, Petty Officer 2nd Class Tywan Ballard, an aviation electronics technician, scrapes away at a nine-foot block of snow. Ballard, along with members of the Misawa Navy Snow Team are in Sapporo, Japan and are taking part in the 62nd Annual Sapporo Snow Festival. Over the course of the coming week, the team will chisel down this block of ice into its intended design - an "ice anchor." The team's creation is slated for display throughout the weeklong festival in the northern Japanese city. Ballard is stationed at Misawa Air Base and is attached to Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Detachment Misawa. |
