| Description |
English: Montgomery Canal 13 mile milepost. One of the replica mileposts installed on the canal. The dedication reads "Milestone No 13 is dedicated by John Fitzwalter & Val (nee Davies) in recognition of vigilance by past owners Mrs Powell, Idris & Alison Morris for prevention of demolition at Canal Cottages (by Bridge 100) of 10 dwellings; stables; ex-firestation / pickle factory / training area for Welsh boxer Denis Powell. Condemned orders were served by (the then) Montgomery District Council. These c1850 buildings are now listed and part of Montgomeryshires heritage. Long may they be treasured. May 2004". |
