Tout ce morceau-milieu coûte à la ville de Reims, y compris les marbres, 41^000 livres. La ftatue de S. M. feule de voit être coulée en bronze, Se les attributs dupiédeftal en plomb ; mais le defir de rendre durable tout ce qui compolece monument, & de répondre à la perfection que le fculpteur a mife dansfon modèle, a engagé la ville de Reims à le faire exécuter dans fa totalitéen bronze. Comme cette entreprife exigeoit une dépenfe mpérieure auxfinances de la Ville, M. Bertin, ci-devant contrôleur-général, Se M. dOr-mefTon , intendant des finances, ont bien voulu féconder fon zèle. Pour perpétuer lépoque de léreélion de cette ftatue , la ville de Reimsa fait frapper une médaille qui a été placée dans les fondations du piédeftal.Dun côté, eft repréfenté le monument Se de lautre , on lit linfcriptionfuivante dans une couronne dalizier (a).
