Description
Deutsch: Die denkmalgeschützte Monumentenbrücke in Berlin-Schöneberg führt die Monumentenstraße über die Trassen der Nord-Süd-Fernbahn und der Anhalter Vorortbahn (S-Bahn). Sie bildet einen Osttausgang der von Gleisanlagen umschlossenen Roten Insel. Die Balkenbrücke aus Stahl wurde 1929/30 nach Entwürfen von Carl und Ewald Usinger erbaut. Am Ende der Straße (auf höhere Auflösung klicken) ist die Spitze des namengebenden „Monuments“, des Nationaldenkmals auf dem Kreuzberg zu sehen.
English: The Monumentenbrücke is a listed street-bridge of the Monumentenstraße in Berlin-Schöneberg, Germany, crossing some train-lines. The steel-bridge was built in 1929/30 by Carl and Ewald Usinger. It’s situated at the eastborder of the neighborhood Rote Insel (literally, Red Island). At the end of the street you can see the top of the namegiving „Monument“, the National monument on the Kreuzberg.
