Description Men of a Navy combat demolition unit prepare TNT for blasting out a channel at Morotai Island, 15 September 1944. The explosive is contained in a specially prepared rubber hose to permit blasting of long narrow channels. Eight tons of it were used in one blast. The men are working on board a converted LCI.
