Summary[edit]

Description
English: Much Wenlock: the clock tower and the Guildhall The clock tower, which has clock faces on the other three sides, was built to commemorate one of the jubilees of Queen Victoria, but the stone on this side tells us that it was restored the 40th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II, in 1992.

In the background is the Guildhall, built in 1540, which housed a prison, a courtroom from that date until 1989, and the Town Council Chamber. The lower floor, originally a corn market, is currently being used as a Christmas fair.
