吸露庵凉袋(建部綾足)編。寛延4年(1751)、京・井筒屋庄兵衛版。半紙本1冊。全26話からなる短篇集で、タイトルにもあるとおり芭蕉についての7話をはじめ、其角・支考・惟然・北枝・野坡など複数の芭蕉門人の逸話をも含める。ただし、いずれも多分に虚構を交えた物語性を有し、本書の逸話をもって事実とすることはできない。『建部綾足全集』6(国書刊行会、1987)に翻刻がそなわるが、同書の玉城司による解題によれば、序跋にある葛鼠、都因など複数の号は全て綾足の別号であり、「およそ十年間におよぶ綾足の諸国行脚の間に得た蕉門俳人の風聞に基づき執筆」したものであるという。さらに、同解題は巻末の「支考麦林と才をたゝかふ」の内容から、「伊勢派の美濃派に対する優位性を喧伝することが、執筆動機の一つに挙げられよう」と指摘している。(木越俊介)(2022.11)
