Description
English: Steelworker 1st Class Angel Cano from El Paso, Texas, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 5's Construction Civic Action Detail Philippines reads a story to the third-grade students of Aplaya Elementary School. Most of the Seabees spend their lunch break interacting and building rapport with local schoolchildren. CCAD Philippines is constructing a two-classroom masonry building for the Aplaya Elementary School. Seabees conduct CCAD operations like this one in order to demonstrate U.S. commitment, develop enduring relationships, improve public infrastructure for the delivery of essential services, and strengthen local institutions with host and partner nations around the world.
