| Description |
English: (1 of a 10-picture set) After leaving Mesa Verde N.P. in Colorado, we drove a short way into Arozona where our first stop was the famous Four Corners. This is the only place in the US where four states abut. So I had to stand in all 4 states at one time as everyone does. This is a tourist draw for the Navajo. They have not built any amenities, so there are only porta-potties, but they do sell souvenirs and snacks. They charge $3.00 per person at the gate. Since the advent of GPS surveys, some claim this spot is off by a couple miles, but it is where the goverment said the four states touch when the monument was dedicated many years ago, and so I don't worry about the argument. |
